Amanda Degler, LCSW
Therapy for teens age 13+, adults, couples, and families. Licensed in Alaska and Ohio. Virtual evenings only. Sun-Thurs.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who has been providing counseling since 2012. I am licensed in Alaska and Ohio. I started my career in the nonprofit world providing counseling and support to victims of child trafficking, then to children imprisoned in the immigration detention center, and now work with individuals ready to reclaim themselves. Throughout my work, I have always had a passion to bring the most effective, evidence based practices to clients who are feeling stuck in their anxiety, depression, relationships, or trauma triggers.

In 2020, I decided to get EMDRia trained as I was often referring my clients out for EMDR therapy and seeing that this was an effective way to clear out past trauma, hurts, abuse, and neglect. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional that has been trained in dissociation, nervous system regulation, parts work and somatic base interventions. I also work with couples and am trained in Gottman Level 1 and 2.

In my work, I have seen the importance of mind, body, emotions, and spirit as these are all affected by trauma and are important in recovering connection to self, spirituality, and others. Many of my clients are coming out of abusive religious groups and relationships and I want to come alongside them in reflecting, releasing, and reprocessing these hurtful experiences and help them find a way to recover themselves.

I work with individuals (teens and adults), couples, and families. I only offer online sessions, which allows you to meet from the convenience and familiarity of your own home, eliminate transportation burdens, and provides access to services for those in more rural regions.
